Long story short, I was drenched and angry when I arrived at my office and decided to go on a mission during my lunch hour to rectify my raingear situation.

My trek took me over to Boutique Vasanji on Mainland Street in Yaletown, where I found this classic black trenchcoat (by Raindrops) in a size large. It’s a little big at the waist, but fits right at the shoulders and arms and has a belt, so I can cinch it in. Being my usual high-maintenance self, I found some flaws in the stitching and was able to wrangle $25 off the original price of $105. Not bad.

I also found this fun royal blue plastic belt. It was super cheap, at just $19. Its a good way to add a splash of fun to a drab ensemble.

Next door at Fine Finds I picked up this cheeky umbrella. I mean Cheeky, as in that’s the name of the umbrella company. Cute, huh? I love how it’s yellow and sunny on the inside, with “When does it start raining men?” embroidered on it in white.

I also got these two plastic hair clips. I wear my hair up most of the time and I think I’ve outgrown elastic pony-tail holders, at least in the workplace. They were $9 each.
